WHY SOME PEOPLE LOVE TALKING — NONSTOP

I long considered myself as someone who is sociably talkative. I’m easy to have a conversation with on almost any topic. Basically, a bit of a jack-of-all-trades on a variety of topics.

I believe in hearing one’s side fairly. Being a good sounding board without a preconceived notion is therapy for many people who are depressed or lonely or have some form of anxiety.

I don’t mind being that sounding board for someone who needs to get things off their chest. Everyone has had others reveal something deep, disturbing and surreal to them.

I’m the free, considerate, patient, and enduring SHRINK, okay.

However, what I find different is someone who talks excessively. I can recall a time when I was sitting and having a conversation with a person. The conversation, in which I spoke probably twenty percent of the time, was casual over about life, jobs, friends, society, etc.

So, when it was time for me to leave after about an hour, I recall saying some thing like, “Gotta run” or “Headed to work.” I remember heading out and the person was looking at me when I got up and left. I even heard them continue explaining things to me after well beyond the door.

Funny thing, a couple of months later another person I knew said the same the about the individual.
