WHY BE IN A HURRY TO GET OFF WORK?

I was in a store this morning. I overheard a cashier say, “I only got four more hours to go,” referring to clocking out and going home from her job.

My mind raced, You gotta million dollars in the bank?

Maybe they do.

But I’ve heard that a lot. Have been hearing it a lot for decades from workers — hourly or salary — more from hourly.
