My tough but fair boss paged me. She was very busy, in the back part of the store, pricing merchandise for a particular section of the store. “Ken,” she began, plainly, “there is a young man here for an interview. He has never held a job before. Could you screen him and give me your thoughts?”

I replied something to the effect, “Sure.”
