When I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my screenwriting career, I needed a job quite urgently. I stayed with my cousin in the suburb of Carson and combed through the classified section of the LA Times to look for a job in the megalopolis. I had traveled from a small town in the South looking to fulfill my teenage aspirations as a screenwriter.
